At least for one week
November 16th, 2009 | by ryanjohnxxi |At least for one week, Redskins fans are rewarded with a performance and team they deserved. Does this mean that this team has turned the corner and will now be a playoff caliber team? Now that the Eagles and Cowboys have lost and the Giants appear to be on a skid, the Skins have a legitimate chance to climb the standings and contend for the NFC East of Wildcard? Most probably not, the fan inside of me is yelling to have a chance to use this opportunity to pontificate, but for now I will stick to facts.
The Redskins did:
- have great play from the offensive line
- have the running game did carry the load, especially Ladell Betts
- have several receivers got involved
- create pressure on the Denver offensive line and gave the QB fits
- play mistake free and produced no turnovers
The Redskins did not:
- have great play from the DBs early and got torched early
- find open receivers often, and JC missed many open players
It appears, that this team has much to work on, but the effort produced was good enough for a win. At this point of the season it was much needed.
